SFA 131 Painting II
The course seeks to encourage students to develop their particular “style” of painting, an evolution, a process that would lead to a personal, distinct, and unique way of visually articulating their emotions, thoughts, principles, advocacies, and life philosophies. The students are likewise encouraged to do research, introspection and soul searching on matters that is important, and significant to them. Topics, themes, materials, and techniques that they would like to passionately pursue.
Ultimately, to use these studies and learnings as a starting point, a germ idea that they could use for their thesis. Other than learning to articulate themselves artistically, and production of art, the course also aims to provide them the experience, know-how, and curatorial skills through mounting a collaborative exhibit at the end of the semester.
