An introduction to creative production in collaborative environments. It introduces students to recent practices and discourses that are relevant to socially-engaged or community-based art practice. This is in line with the realization that art or creative practice can encourage innovation, nurture a healthy working environment, and foster a socially responsive ethic.

The course is a study of theoretical discourses which shaped the contemporary mode of reception and practice of art. The course places emphasis on art theory from the point of view of art production. By doing so, it engages the imagination of students by encouraging them to think and reflect on their creative practice as a form of inquiry or research.
