Mathematics and Statistics Program

This introductory course in Statistics will provide you a background on conducting a statistical inquiry that is essential for performing research works. The basic concepts in Descriptive Statistics and Inferential Statistics are systematically and comprehensively presented in this course to guide you in designing a research study.

This is the third and last course in the calculus series. Topics included in this course are: vectors in space, parametric equations, vector functions, directional derivatives, gradient vectors, and vector fields.

This is the last Calculus series. This course covers the notions on three-dimensional coordinate systems, vectors,  distance and spheres and surfaces, dot and cross product and direction angles and cosines.

This is the first of three courses in the calculus series. In this course, we will study the following: limits, continuity, derivatives and their applications, differentials, antiderivatives, and definite integrals and their applications. 

This is the first part of the Calculus series. Topics include review of functions, limits and continuity of functions, derivatives, antiderivatives, and integrals.

This course is one of the general education (GE) courses of the UP system. The course primarily allows students to appreciate the beauty and power of mathematics through the examination of its nature, development, utility, and relationship with culture and society.

Group representation, equivalences, invariant subspaces, morphisms, decomposability, reducibility, Schur's lemma, character, orthogonality relations, character table, Frobenious divisibility

Principles of logic, methods of proof, mathematical induction, quantifiers, sets, Russell's paradox, relations, functions, cardinality of sets

Joint, marginal, and conditional distributions; independence of several variables; distributions and expectations of functions of random variables; characterization of F, t, χ2 distributions, limit theorem.
