Math 54 (Elementary Analysis II) is the second course in the calculus series and is a continuation of Math 53 (Elementary Analysis I). This course allows the students to enhance their knowledge and skills in calculus. The content of the course focuses on techniques of integration, improper integrals, sequences and series, power series, differential calculus of functions of two or more variables, and double integrals.

This course will focus on the application of statistical techniques to scientific research in health-related fields, including medicine, biology, and public health, and the development of new tools to study these areas.

This course can improve students' ability to think about uncertainty and strengthen practical accumulation. It is a fundamental tool used by researchers, health-care providers, insurance companies, stockbrokers and many others to make decisions in contexts of uncertainty. Most importantly, probability provides information about the likelihood that something will happen.

This course is one of the general education (GE) courses of the UP system. The course primarily allow students to appreciate the beauty and power of mathematics through the examination of its nature, development, utility, and relationship with culture and society.

This course covers rings, integral domains, fields, rings of polynomials, fundamental theorem of field theory, extension fields, algebraic extensions, finite fields, fundamental theorem of Galois theory, illustrations of Galois theory.
