This course is one of the general education (GE) courses of the UP system. The course primarily allow students to appreciate the beauty and power of mathematics through the examination of its nature, development, utility, and relationship with culture and society.

Algebra, differential, and integral calculus of vectors, Stokes’ Theorem, the divergence theorem and other integral theorems together with many applications drawn from various fields. Curvilinear coordinates are added as these are useful in the study of advanced engineering, physics and mathematics.
